Our Community
Penelope is a small, rural, mostly agriculture based community located about 30 miles northeast of Waco. With a population of about 200 people it feels more like a large extended family than a town. Penelope Robotics has been competing in BEST since the 2011 game "Bugs!".
Penelope Robotics is a class for high school students wanting to advance their knowledge and understanding of engineering, science, and technology. Penelope ISD started the program in 2011, and it has grown to become very successful. |
Penelope is located in Central Texas, ten miles east of the town of West. This small Hill County community is proud of its deep ties to agriculture and Czech heritage. With only a population of 198, community members are very supportive of not only Penelope ISD, but the Penelope Robotics program.
